From as far back as i can remember Bob has been a hero of mine..wether it was seeing him in the parade riding a big black horse sh ooting glass bulbs out of the air or being at trailtown standing at the entrance greeting peole as they came in. I never passed Bob on the road when he didnt wave at me. He was a great man who left the world a priceless legacy of history called " old trail town"! They do not make em like Bob any more.. i could go on for ever about Bob and the positve impact hes had on me in the last 43 years but all i can say is America, Wyoming, and most of all Cody has lost a great man..

To all of Bob's Family: It was my pleasure to grow up next door on the Powell Hiway to the Edgars's and spend time with Bob stomping around Oregon Basin and the banks of the Shoshone River when a youg teenager. He taught me a lot about Wyoming history and Native American culture. Whenever I was in the Cody area I would always take time to see him at Old Trail Town and talk about the old days. He was a real Gentle Giant of a person. His legacy lives on in the people he touched and projects he was involved in. His passing brings an end to an era that will be missed. Chris Cleveland

My condolences to the family and I will always cherish my memories of Bob. He always had time to talk about the west, it''s characters and I could listen for hours if I could. I am grateful to have had the great honor to have met him and read his books.
