Andrew ‘Andy’ Cook Drew

Andrew Cook Drew of Powell died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, following a battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was 72.

Andy was born Dec. 22, 1944, in Salt Lake to Andrew Henry Drew and Genial Cook Drew. Andy finished high school in Glenrock, and an apprenticeship in sheet metal at Casper College. He then served in the U.S. Army.

Andy and Katherine Drew were married in 1966, and were parents of four children. Andy married Marilyn Joyce Dewey Lynde on Oct. 25, 2003, in Powell.

Andy lived in Wyoming all his life. He operated his own plumbing and heating business in Powell, Aspen Mechanical. He loved fishing and hunting and was an excellent dog trainer. He enjoyed going out and exploring in his beloved Wyoming mountains in his side-by-side with Marilyn. Andy was a good father and excellent husband. He was a witty man who enjoyed seeing people laugh and left his mark on many lives. Andy was born into the LDS religion and followed Christ all the days of his life.

Andy was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as grandson Seth Drew.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn; children Susan Rochelle Drew Vaught (Justin), Andrew Byron Drew (Tammy), Edmund Alvin Drew (Michelle), Misty Dawn Drew Kopp (Tim); five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at New Life Church in Powell. Pallbearers are Byron Drew, Curry Drew, Ed Drew, Andy Drew Jr., Brandon Stewart and Tom Sarvey.

A service with military honors will follow at the Cowley Cemetery. Dirk Cozzens will speak.
