Beatrice Lillian Pease

Beatrice Lillian (Ockert) Pease was born in Biladeau Township near Sykeston, ND on August 25, 1926 to John and Molly Ockert. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Sykeston High School.

She attended Valley City Normal School and taught first grade at Lodge Grass, MT for two years.  There she met and married her husband, Fellows (Bud) Pease.  They had four children together.

The family moved to Powell in 1952.  In 1968 Beatrice divorced her husband and went to work at the Powell Hospital as a respiratory therapist aide.

Beatrice loved taking care of her home and her family.  She liked to bake and was a good cook.  She raised big gardens and canned the produce.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and embroidery and always looked forward to seeing all the handwork at the county fair.  She loved traveling and doing family genealogy.  She kept the family scrapbooks and photo albums up-to-date.

Her passion was art and painting.  She took almost every art class offered by Northwest College and spent many happy hours in her basement studio painting pictures.

Her parents, two brothers and a sister preceded Beatrice in death.  She is survived by her brother Lester (Lois) of West Fargo, ND, her children Michael (Donella) of Powell, Delores of Hardin, MT, David (Linda) of Powell and Francis of Powell, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Wednesday May 25 from 1-3:00pm at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Saturday May 28, 2016 in Cathay Cemetery, Cathay, North Dakota at 1:00.
Memorials donations may be made to the Moyer Animal Shelter in Powell.
