It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Christie L. Allison, who left us on August 6, 2025, at the Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody following a tragic accident at her home in Powell, WY. Christie was 70 years old, having celebrated her birthday just weeks before. She was born on July 23, 1955, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Ivan and Jennie LaRae (Ottesen) Johnson. Christie had five sisters, Liz Bona (Deceased), Vickie Edmonds, Tamara Johnson, Rhonda Newell, and Charlotte Walker. Because of a mosquito or insect bite when she was 18 months old, Tamara was left severely handicapped both mentally and physically. Christie developed a strong compassionate and understanding attitude about disabled people because of her sister's disabilities a n d later went onto become a volunteer in Special Olympics activities in Powell. Christie's life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her deep compassion for others. She was a proud graduate of Spanish Fork High School, Class of 1973, before attending Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. It was there she met Rollin Stevens, who would become her first husband. Together, they welcomed their son, Robert (Rob) I. Stevens, into the world on April 17, 1978. Christie was a devoted mother, always placing Rob at the center of her thoughts and prayers. Over the years, she found great joy in watching him thrive personally and professionally. Though her marriage to Rollin ended in divorce, Christie's journey continued to unfold in remarkable ways. After earning her paralegal degree, she returned to Wyoming, where she worked in various roles, including at the Skyline Café, CR Anthony's, and as a teacher’s aide at both Parkside Elementary and Powell Middle School. It was at Powell Middle School, where Christie's heart for others truly shined. As a special education aide, she touched the lives of countless students, offering them not only her professional skills but also her genuine care and kindness. In 1991, Christie's life took a new turn when she met James (Jim) Allison, a local attorney, while they were both volunteering at a Special Olympics event. They quickly became a strong team at the Allison Law Office, where Christie's understanding of people with disabilities and her paralegal training made her invaluable. Over time, their friendship blossomed into love, and in 2000, they married, creating a beautiful life together. For the next 25 years, Christie and Jim shared a loving home where they built memories, nurtured their garden, and welcomed friends and family with open arms. Their home was a place of warmth, where Bible studies, gatherings for the Park County Bar Association, and Powell Medical Foundation board meetings brought people together. Christie's adventurous spirit led her and Jim on many travels, from the breathtaking landscapes of Glacier National Park to the tropical shores of the Gulf of Mexico with stops in Haiti, Jamacia, Grand Cayman Island, and Cozumel, as well as memorable journeys through the national parks of the American West, Canda (Alberta and Banff), and trips to visit family in Spanish Fork and St. George. Christie and Jim also spent a memorable 10 days in Belize. One fall, they toured the national parks of Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Arches and Canyonlands. But no matter where life took them, Christie's heart remained with her family, especially with her beloved grandson, Jaxon and daughter-in-law Amber. The joy she found in Jaxon’s smile and the love they shared will forever be remembered. As will her special connection with her son Robert. Christie's bond with her sister Vickie was one of her most treasured relationships. Despite the miles between them, they spoke several times a day, often for hours, supporting one another through life's joys and challenges. They shared a deep connection, and with Christie's diminishing eyesight Vickie would often read her scriptures, Guidepost articles, and Angel Magazine stories. They continually expressed their mutual love and concern for each other. Frequent comments between them were "I wish we didn't live far apart,"or“! wish we lived closer.” Her adored Shih Szu dogs, Babe I and Babe Il, were her constant companions, offering comfort and unconditional love. Christie's affection for them reflected the love she gave to everyone in her life: boundless, warm, and sincere. Christie’s gentle spirit, her ever-present smile, and her genuine care for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, James (Jim) S. Allison; her son, Robert I. Stevens (Amber); her grandson, Jaxon; her stepsons, Darek J. Allison and Scott W. Allison (Rae); four sisters, Vickie (Danny), Tamara, Ronda, and Charlotte; and many cousins from both the Ottesen and Johnson families. Christie was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and LaRae, her nephew Daniel, as well as well as many aunts and uncles. A funeral service in honor of Christie's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Grace Point Church. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity or organization of your choice in Christie’s name. Though we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing that Christie's love, kindness, and compassion live on in all of us who had the privilege of knowing her.
