Darlene Ann Morrison

Darlene Ann Morrison passed away peacefully on October 12, 2009, with family by her side at the Powell Valley Care Center.
Born February 22, 1932 to Orville and Mildred Cline, Darlene spent her early years among family in Hume, Missouri. Around age 12, Darlene, her parents, sister and brother relocated to the Powell area where she remained her entire life.
She married Thomas E. Nelson of Ralston in 1949. Although he passed 4 years later, she and Tom had two children, daughter Rebecca and son Robert.
She married Harold H. Morrison of Cody in 1954 following his return from service during the Korean War. Harold adopted both Rebecca and Robert and the young family was soon joined by two sons, Rodney and Roland.
Extended family was very important to Darlene and she managed it with great cleverness. Darlene used her cooking skills to bring this extended family together. Summer picnics, holidays or just a visit from out of town family or friends; her cooking was always a big part of any celebration. Mom's food was the glue that kept it all together.
Darlene was very active in the Ralston Club. She enjoyed reading a good book along with working in her flower beds.
During her life, she took part in the lives of ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Darlene is survived by her four children Becky Lohrenz and husband Jerry of Ralston, Bob Morrison and wife Norma of Ralston, Rod Morrison and wife Lynn of Powell, and Roland Morrison of Billings, Mont.; 17 grandchildren; brother Roy Cline and wife Caryl of Bellevue, Wash.; brother-in-law James Nelligan of Bangor, Maine; sister-in-law Norleen Robirds and husband Don of Cody; uncles Bud Cline and wife Lil of Powell and Cecil Cline of Powell; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents and sister.

Cremation was her wish and memorial services will be conducted at the Thompson Funeral Home in Powell on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Crowne Hill Cemetery.
