Edith J Head

Edith J. Head, 92, passed away on March 25, 2022 at Powell Valley Care Center. Born Edith Julia Goodrich on May 26, 1929 in Cody, Nebraska to Howard Augustus and Mary Edith Goodrich. In 1936 the family moved to Casper WY, where they ranched. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1948.

 

Edith was working as an operator for Bell Telephone when she met and married Donald E. Head from Bonne Terre, MO, in 1952,  and they were married for 50 years. Don and Edith moved many times before moving to Powell in 1972. She was an excellent seamstress and got a kick out of sharing a name with a famous designer. She made custom garments and sewed for an interior designer. She also worked in the high school library in Thermopolis and Anthony's in Powell. Later she focused on quilting and was a member of the quilt guild. Great times were enjoyed with her quilting friends.

 

Edith is survived by daughters Leslie (Don) Otto of Powell, WY, Dona Dines of Cody, WY. Her brother Hershal Goodrich of Bend, OR. Grandchildren Cameron Otto of Powell, WY, Spencer (Kira Gilman) Otto of Lander, WY, Shelby Wright of Deaver, WY and Augustus Dines of Ralston, WY. A family graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell.
