Edna M. Becker

Edna M. Becker, 93, of Powell, died March 16, 2017, at Powell Valley Hospital.
Services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, Thursday, March 23, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jim Barth officiating.
She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Elk Basin, the daughter of William and Ida Belle (Reynolds) Malliott.
Edna attended grade school in Garland, then lived with an older sister, Mary and her family, in Frannie and attended high school in Deaver, graduating in 1941. She then went on and attended secretary school in Great Falls, Montana, and worked for the government for several years.
Edna married Eugene Becker on June 18, 1945, in Billings. They made their home in Frannie, living in Continental Oil camp, until purchasing a farm just north of Frannie. Edna farmed, along with her husband, for 27 years until his death in 1974. She then worked for Georgia Pacific, Powell public schools, and Northwest College until her retirement in 1989.
Edna took up china painting, taught and hosted china painters for 35 years.
Survivors include two sons, , Gary (Tanya) Becker of Powell and Rodney (Carla) Becker of Harlem, Montana ; one daughter Rhonda (Gene) Borcher of Powell; one sister Janice Stump of Cody; and one step-brother Ivan Wolfe of Powell; grandchildren Sheri (Tom) Holweg, Jennifer (Justin) Reynolds, Cindy Brad, Jeff (Krissy) Borcher, Danelle (Robert) Gunn, Ashley (Dan) Chenoweth, Weston (Cassidy) Borcher, and seven great-grandchildren: Trey, Kaden, Aleah, Kobbe, Kanon, Jacob and Josh.
