Obituary

Loyce Cossitt was born January 19th 1931. She passed May 18th 2026. She was born in Olny

Illinoiss. Two years later her mom and brother traveled by train, then by horse and wagon to Broadus

Mt. she resided there until she went to college in Jamestown North Dakota. After college she taught at

many small schools in Montana. She met Jim Cossitt [the love of her life] at a country dance on St.

Patricks Day dance in Ashland Mt [ her favorite color was green}. Jim and Loyce were married in 1952.

After she married Jim she continued to teach school in Southeast Montana and Powder River County.

She later was a cook for the Broadus school system. She also drove school bus and carried the mail. She

was a proud member of the Eastern Star. She was also involved in the Rainbow Girls and also the Red

Hat Society. She became County Librarian until she retired. Loyce was the mother of four children and

also took care of her parents Tom and Isabel Willaims Her loving husband Jim passed March 10, 2005 at

the age of 75. She remained in Broadus unjamiejtil 2008. She then moved in with her son Frank and his

wife Darla. She stayed there for approximately a year until she moved into her new home at the Powell

Valley Care Center. She enjoyed many things while there including Wednesday bingo with her Daughter

Katie and Granddaughter Jamie. She often spoke of the amazing staff and resident she met while living

there.

She was survived by her four children, Vern [Laura] of Casper. Frank and late wife [Darla] Powell

Wy. Katie [and late husband Lyle Nalivka] Butte Mt. Dan [Chris] of Gillette Wy. Along with many

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her Mother Isabel and Father Tom Williams, Brother Thomas

Williams. Daughter in-law Darla [Frank} Daughter in-law Marty [Dan] Great Grandson Brandon {Jamie

Leo] Son in-law Lyle [Katie]

She will be greatly missed by many, may she rest easy.--
