George Duane Manion

George Duane Manion of Powell, Wyoming passed away April 19, 2023 at his home in Powell, surrounded by his family. He was born April 3, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas to George Thomas Manion and Thelda Oneida Clark. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked as a carpenter until he retired. He married Frankie Elaine Starkey in Winnemucca, Nevada on Jan. 14, 1977. 

Duane also lived in Yakima, Washington before moving to Powell, where he enjoyed playing guitar, riding his Harley and tending to his horses. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. 

He is survived by his wife Elaine Manion, sons Matthew Armstrong, Shan Manion, Michael Manion and daughter Dawn (Mick) Hobbs, as well as grandchildren Joshua Armstrong and Jarred (Amanda) LaPierre, and great grandchild Cyrus Armstrong. 

A memorial service will be held later this summer. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
