Gwendolyn Miller

Gwendolyn Miller, 86, passed away on Feburary 7, 2009 with her family by her side. Gwen was born
August 16, 1922 in Byron, Wyoming. She was the daughter of Kirk and Pearl Sessions and her family
consisted of 3 brothers, Don, Vernon, and Corman, and her best friend and sister Eileen. She married
Carl Miller on October 19, 1939 in Red Lodge, Montana. Carl and Gwen were the parents of 5 children:
Clay(Dianne), Powell; Carleen (Dick) Kattenhorn, Lafayette, CO; Rick(Dorothy), Littleton,CO; Pearl
Ann(Keith)Lewis, Orem, UT; and Myrna(Todd) Welch, Colorado Springs, CO.
They made their home in Powell, Wyoming, farming on the Willwood until they moved to town, where
Gwen served 19 years in food service for the Powell elementary schools. Gwen was an active member
in many community organizations, where she loved serving people. She is the grandmother of 19
children, and a great grandmother of 47 children, all of whom she greatly loved and cared for.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Don and Corman, husband Carl, and eldest son
Clay.
Funeral services will be at 10:00am Tuesday, February 10th in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints on Avenue E in Powell, WY. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery under the direction of
Thompson's Funeral Home
