Harley Wayne Wassink

A man of few words, but a heart full of love. Harley Wayne Wassink, 79, of Powell, Wyoming, passed away March 10th, 2024 with his family by his side. 

Harley (Wayne) was born in Baker, Montana June 3rd 1944 to Harley and Esther Wassink. He was the oldest of of four siblings. In 1963, he volunteered for active duty in the United States Air Force where he served 4 years including two tours in Vietnam. In 1967, after discharge from his military service, he moved to Powell, Wyoming where he met the love of his life, Brenda Wheeler. On April 19th, 1968, he and Brenda were married. During their 56 years of marriage, they had two children, Dusty and Melissa.

Not only was he a beacon of light to his family, but to everyone he came in contact with. Many in this area know him for his electrical work, but he had many other hobbies over the years. He loved archery hunting, ham radio, model trains, and four wheeling. But most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harley and Esther Wassink, sister Sharon Scranton, and Phyllis (Jerry) Higgins.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Wassink, son Dusty Wassink, and daughter Melissa (Ryan) Wassink/Gallagher. He also leaves behind 4 beautiful grandchildren; Wyatt, Ellie, Sean, Bailee and sister Twyla (Pedro) Segura.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church Friday, March 15th, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery.
