James Stringer

James Richard Stringer of Powell, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and coach, died on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Powell Valley Hospital emergency room. He was 44.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Powell High School football stadium.
Jim was born on Aug. 23, 1969, at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo, to Peggy Sue (Cline) and James C. Stringer.
Following high school, he received a Bachelor’s of Education degree in English with a minor in Science. He went on to receive his Master’s of Administration.
On Aug. 4, 1990, Jim married the love of his life Jill Christensen in Laramie. The couple lived in Laramie, Kingman, Ariz., and Powell. They had a son, Riley, and twin daughters, Kodi and Kooper.
Jim worked as a teacher at Powell High School and was the head coach of the PHS football team since 2003, leading the Panthers to state championship titles in 2006, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
He was a member of the Wyoming Coaches Association, National High School Coaches Association and Wyoming Education Association.
Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, watching MMA fights, family vacations and family time.
Left to mourn Jim are his loving wife Jill Stringer; son Riley Mitchell Stringer, 17; twin daughters Kodi McKenna Stringer and Kooper Jade Stringer, 14; mother Peggy Stringer of Powell; grandmother Mary Richardson; aunt Debra Lindquist; mother- and father-in-law Stan and Florence Christensen; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Leslie Christensen, Jeff and Jahna Stone and Bruce Williams; nieces and nephews Chelsea Girardot, Cameron Williams, Bailey Gallo, McKenzie Stone, Hayes Stone, Christian Robinson, Cole Christensen, Kennedi Christensen and Linda Christensen; uncle Roger and aunt Barb Cline, aunt Beth and uncle Jim Bunner.
He also is survived by a host of other cousins, aunts, uncles and an entire community of extended family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father James C. Stringer; sister Debbie Williams; grandparents Bud and Lucyle Cline; cousin Brian Bunner; and uncle Tom Cline.
Cody Johnson will officiate the memorial service Thursday morning at the Panther Stadium, and Nevin Jacobs will be the vocalist. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Despain, Mike Heny, Chase Kistler, Nevin Jacobs, Steve Lensegrav and Chanler Buck.
