Jeffrey Allan Easum
February 21, 1969 – October 31, 2026
Jeffrey Allan Easum, of Powell, Wyoming, passed away on October 31, 2026, at the age of 57. He was born on February 21, 1969, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Roger and Linda (Anderson) Easum.
Jeff grew up in Berthoud, Colorado and later moved to Wyoming where he graduated from Burlington High School. Throughout his life he wore many hats, including dairy farmer, mechanic, and Hot Shot for Johnson’s Oil and Water Service. A hard-working man who took pride in what he did, Jeff was never afraid to get his hands dirty and could often be found working on something with wheels, an engine, or a purpose.
Jeff served in the United States Army as a light-weight vehicle specialist, a role that reflected his natural talent for working on vehicles and his willingness to serve others.
On November 13, 1992, Jeff married the love of his life, Lynn Hessenthaler, in their living room in Powell, Wyoming. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, and the things they loved. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and most importantly to him, Papa to his Sugar Bear who was the light of his life.
When Jeff wasn’t working, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, farming, raising livestock, working with tractors, and fixing up old cars. He had a passion for anything mechanical and a deep appreciation for the farming and ranching lifestyle. Whether he was behind the wheel, working in the shop, or spending time with those he loved, Jeff was happiest doing what came natural to him.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Easum; his parents, Roger and Linda Easum; his in-laws, Jack and Sydney Hessenthaler; his children Chase Easum (Bryce), Mayson McCabe (Tyler), Zachrey Easum (Hannah), and Brittany Mattson (Casey); and his nine beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his brothers Jeremy Easum (Kim), Cody Easum (Gwen); his sister Addrienne Sims (Andy); many nieces and nephews who he loved so much; and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jeff was preceded in death by his sister Callie Easum as well as all of his grandfathers and grandmothers.
A funeral service celebrating Jeff’s life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Yellowstone Building at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming followed by burial service with military honors at Crown Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow back at the Yellowstone Building.
