Jerry L Brown

October 9, 1942 – March 16, 2019

After a long fought battle with COPD, Jerry shed his mortal coil at 6 am on March 16, 2019. He leaves behind “his girls” daughter Brenda Mettes, granddaughters Elisha Hatch and Shay Bales and his great granddaughter Maggie Rae Hatch.

During his working years, Jerry was a long haul and later a short haul truck driver. His truck driving somewhat quenched the gypsy spirit he seemed to possess. He loved to travel and see the country. He had especially fond memories of going for long drives up Sunlight Basin letting his granddaughters practice their driving skills as teens. 4-wheeling up behind Cooke City, camping under the stars and fishing for brook trout were also things he loved.

Jerry was always willing to help his girls with any project or need that arose. This generosity extended to anyone who could take his orneriness and give it right back to him. If he liked you, he picked on you mercilessly with a quick wit and sense of humor.

Per Jerry’s request, there are no services planned. His girls will scatter his ashes in a private gathering at a later date
