John Duane Davison died on May 16, 2016, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings from heart failure. He was 83.
Duane was born on Feb. 24, 1933, in Nebraska to Homer and May Davison.  
He grew up in many locations, including Powell on several occasions. His mother died when he was 3, and his father worked for the railroad. He once attended 17 different schools in a 12-month period.  
Duane married Sylvia Jean Goodridge in 1952 in Washington state. They moved to Wyoming in 1959. Sylvia died in 1988.
In a long career of farming, Duane worked in Washington, Lovell, Cowley, Deaver and Powell, where he labored from 1962 until 2008. He particularly enjoyed working with his cattle. He was irrigating his 57th Wyoming crop two days before his death.
He is survived by his three sons, Duane Jay (Linda) of Wibaux, Montana, Tomas Lynn (Nancy), and Mitchell Gene of Powell; and 14 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at the Deaver Cemetery.
Viewing will be from noon-1:30 p.m. prior to the services at Thompson Funeral Home in Powell.
