Josephine Ladd

Josephine Ellen Norris Ladd, age 93, died Sunday, 24 November 2019, of Encephalitis and a paralyzing major stroke, in the hospital at Powell, Park County, Wyoming.  She was born 22  March 1926, near Winona, Shannon County, Missouri, to Otis and Fannie Elizabeth Jordan Norris.  She was married 25 September 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Vernon Charles Ladd, son of Charles Edward and Bertha Blanche Dibler Ladd; he had newly received an honorable discharge as a Staff Sargeant in the Army of World War II.  They remained married until he died 13 May 2002, in Powell.  Their 56 years together were very fruitful and happy.
Jo Ladd loved camping, fishing, bowling, hunting, and golfing.  When she was young she served as a Practical Nurse; and later for many years she was an upholsterer with her own business.  She raised and kept horses, and loved cats and dogs.  
Surviving are her children, Sandra Gwen Ladd Saylor, and Gary Alan Ladd, of Powell Wyoming; her grandchildren:  Twila Saylor, of Albuquerque, NM; Karma Taylor, of Pineville, Louisiana; Deseri Ladd, of Bozeman, Montana; Cassandra Ladd-Jensen, of Powell, Wyoming; Karyn Lawless, of Bozeman, Montana; Amy Kimmel, of Gallatin Gateway, Montana; Mandy Lohof; of Columbus, Montana; and Kelly Lohof, of Columbus, Montana.  In addition, she is survived by her eleven great grandchildren; and her three great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Marvin Junior Norris, of Willow Springs, Missouri; her sisters-in-law, Vera Ladd and Fayetta Martin; and her brother-in-law, Marion Donald Ladd.  Also surviving are her many nieces, nephews, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her grandson, Strett Conrad Saylor; her two sisters, Eva Hughes and Lena Thompson; and her two brothers, Gerald Norris and Laird Norris.
Her ashes will be interred at Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell, Wyoming.  There will be a graveside service to be announced at a later date.
