Judith "Judie" Ann Hillman

Mrs. Judith Ann Hillman (Judie), of Powell, WY, passed away in her Billings, MT home on October 25, 2019.

Judie was born July 12, 1944 in Lovell, WY to Bill and Marcene Shumway.  Her family moved to Powell when she was two years old.  Judie attended Powell schools and graduated from Powell High School in 1962.  She attended Cosmetology School in Billings and obtained a beautician license, which she maintained throughout her life.  Judie married the love of her life, Don Hillman in 1963.  They welcomed two children, Raquel and Jason, and spent fifty-three years raising a family.

Judie worked for many years at Fryers Pharmacy in Powell.  She enjoyed working with the public and her coworkers.  The job she valued most and excelled at was being a homemaker.  She was a wonderful wife to Don, mother to Raquel and Jason, and their spouses Stuart and Amy.  She loved being grandma to Jenna, Brynn and Cade.  She and Don moved to Sheridan, WY in 1993 due to Don’s work.  They returned to Powell in 2005 so they could retire and spend their golden years in the community they loved.

Judie loved having friends and family over to visit.  Spending time sitting around the table chatting with her loved ones was one of her favorite things to do.  She always welcomed fun conversation.  She was an avid quilter and enjoyed creating with friends and sharing her work with family.  Judie loved being a mom and grandma.  She spent countless hours on the road supporting her kids in whatever event or activity they were participating in.  This carried over to her grandkids as she found herself in gyms and at the track cheering for them.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and friend.

Judie is survived by her brother, Richard Shumway (Cindy); sisters Linda Learned (Wes); Sally Langdon (Robert); and Donna Shumway; her children, Raquel Schwab (Stuart) and Jason Hillman (Amy); her grandchildren, Jenna Hillman, Brynn Hillman, and Cade Schwab.  She is proceeded in death by her husband, Don Hillman, and her parents, Bill and Marcene Shumway.

Services will be held at Grace Point Church on Friday, November 1st at 11:00 a.m.  A reception will follow the service at Grace Point.  The family is grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.
