Kathy Sue Mayer passed away on Sept. 28, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Wallace and Ruth Kuhlman on Feb. 27, 1951, in Lakin, Kansas.

Kathy graduated from Garden City Community College with an associates degree in science in 1971. Kathy then attended Northwest College in Powell. She married David Mayer on Nov. 27, 1988, and they lived in Powell. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Kathy enjoyed working at IGA for over 20 years and at Powell Valley Healthcare for eight years. She enjoyed spending her free time with family, especially in the mountains and traveling.

She is survived by her sons Jeremy (Tanya) Horning of Powell and Nathan (Laura) Horning of Powell; her daughters Luann (Jerry) Cowles of Laramie and Kaysie Mayer of Casper; her brothers Grady (Kaye) Kuhlman of Garden City, Kansas; Mark (Tina) Kuhlman of Larkspur, Colorado; Sisters Sheri (Frank) Stansbury of New Orleans; Trudy (Melvin) Ginest of Powell, Sandy (Tom) Calkins of Lakin; in-law Audrey (Kenny) Buchli of Powell; grandchildren Kati, Derrick, Kadence, David (DW), Tyler, Brooke, Lakin and Tayler, as well as many bonus kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Mayer, parents Wallace and Ruth Kuhlman, sister Becky Whetstone and daughter Mariah Mayer.

Funeral Services were held at Thompson Funeral Home on Oct. 3 with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery following the services.
