Laura Riggs

Laura Jean Riggs (Balen), 74, passed away on June 27^th2023, in Powell Wyoming.  Laura was born Oct24^th 1948, to John P and Mary C Balen (Billings) in Cody Wyoming.  Laura graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1967.  Laura married John B Riggs in Evanston Wyoming on October 4th, 1967. Laura started her career for Mountain Bell in Casper Wyoming and worked in Casper, Billings, Tucson, and finally retiring in Phoenix long after it became AT&T.  Laura is predeceased by her parents.  She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John B. of Powell Wyoming, son Mark J. of Casper Wyoming, and son John R. of Powell Wyoming, sister Marie Blackstock of Casper Wyoming, brother John Balen of Las Cruces NM, brother Paul Balen of Liberty Lake Washington, and brother Michael Balen of Hobbs NM. She will always be remembered for her wisdom, love of her animals,  sense of humor,  and unwavering dedication to her family. Services will be held Wednesday July 12, 2023 at 10:00 am.
