Immanuel Lutheran Church
Starts at 10:00 am (Mountain time)
Lee A. Wisroth, of Powell, WY, was received into his heavenly home on September 29,
2026.
He was born on December 13, 1953, in Kimball, Nebraska. God made him His child
through Holy Baptism on December 27, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burns,
WY, the same church in which he would be confirmed, married, ordained, and buried.
He publicly confessed his faith during the rite of Confirmation on June 2, 1968. Growing
up on the Wisroth family ranch, he worked hard to help his family and rode his horse
Joe in his spare time.
Lee attended Burns High School, winning back-to-back state basketball championships
his junior and senior seasons. He graduated in 1972 as valedictorian of his high school
class. Lee played basketball and ran track for Laramie County Community College.
After two years, he transferred to Concordia University, Nebraska, where he played
football and met his future wife, Rachel. Upon graduating, Lee spent a year working
construction and traveling in his van across 48 states. He then moved to Cleveland, OH,
where he taught 3 rd grade for several years. On August 5, 1978, he and Rachel were
united in holy matrimony. Later, God blessed them with three children: Aaron, Leah,
and Jesse. Lee studied at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN, for four
years, and was ordained as a pastor on July 17, 1983. For the next forty years, he
answered the Call to faithfully and lovingly shepherd congregations in Crawford and
Harrison, NE, Saratoga and Hanna, WY, and Powell, WY. He also coached high school
athletics and refereed countless games of basketball and football. Upon moving to
Powell in 2006, Lee and Rachel began construction on their Haven, a home which Lee
loved dearly. They were grateful for many helping hands throughout the years of
building their home. In 2023, Lee’s full-time ministry ended due to health concerns, but
he continued to serve as Pastor Emeritus until his death.
He is survived by his wife Rachel (nee Eggers); his children Aaron Wisroth (Nicole),
Leah Rawlins (Thomas), and Jesse Moore (Cody); his grandchildren Keagan, Alicia,
Tristan, Lincoln, Ember, Elena, Caleb, Roman, Isaac, Levi, Elsie, and John; his sisters
Diann, Leann, and Rosann; as well as uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He
was preceded in death by his father and mother, with whom he is now resting in the
presence of the Lord.
A funeral will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Powell, WY, on October 6 at 10
o’clock in the morning, with Pastor Dan Harrington officiating. A luncheon will follow. All
are invited to attend.
An interment and second service will follow in Burns, WY, at Burns Lutheran Cemetery
and Immanuel Lutheran Church. It will be held on October 8, starting at 10 o’clock in the
morning, with Pastor Ted Bourret officiating, followed by a luncheon. Everyone is
welcome.
