Linda Lu Stang was born to Douglas J. & Loretta June (Walden) Clarkson on September 12, 1951 in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. By her own admission, she grew up a "military brat" spending much of her youth in Germany & France. She eventually landed in Las Vegas, Nevada and worked for many years in hospitality. She married Jeffrey P. Stang on May 18,1991. Several years later, they moved to Lovell, WY. In early 2000, Jeff and Linda built their dream home on 2 acres in Powell. Linda lived the last three years of her life in the Powell Valley Care Center and passed away on the morning of January 18, 2026. Linda loved and trained dogs of all shapes and sizes. She was also an accomplished seamstress and loved to cook, especially for her neighbors. If Linda should be remembered for one thing, it would be for her love and devotion to Jesus Christ. She was a fierce prayer warrior for anyone in need and she had a firm hope of life everlasting with Jesus in Heaven. May the Divine assistance remain always with us and may her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband Jeffrey and her daughter, Julie Ann (Stoney) Ficenec.
A graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
Linda wished that the following "Prayer of St. Francis" be read at her funeral:
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Sarah Durney and ALL of the wonderful staff at Powell Valley Care Center who went over and above to care for Linda physically, mentally, emotionally and most of all, spiritually. You are so very much appreciated.
