Obituary

With great sadness and love, we announce the passing of Marcelina Cobos Hernandez, who passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on May 25, 2026, at the age of 89.

Marcelina was born on June 2, 1936, to Jose and Magdalena Cobos and was one of ten siblings. Growing up in a large family helped shape the qualities she carried throughout her life: a devotion to family and faith, a sense of humor, and a stubborn streak that served her well.

Marcelina was married to Raymond O. Hernandez for 33 years until his passing in 1989. Together they raised six children. Though widowed for 37 years, Marcelina often said she was blessed with extra time alongside Raymond through the many years they worked together at the family-owned business, 4-H Plumbing and Heating.

In addition to raising six children and serving as office manager for the plumbing business, Marcelina worked in daycare, at City Hall, and at the Lamplighter Inn to help support her family.

A faithful member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church for nearly 70 years, Marcelina was active in the church’s Mother’s Rosary and Bible Study groups, where she shared in friendship, faith, and fellowship.

Known to many as “Marge,” she loved gardening and spent countless hours caring for her garden and flowers. What began as Raymond’s passion became one of her own after his passing, as she lovingly continued the work he once enjoyed. Marge was also a devoted supporter of her children and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren cheering them on from the stands or listening faithfully to games on Powell sports radio. She enjoyed word search puzzles, trying different foods, and traveling with family to new places and adventures.

Marcelina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her son, Michael; her grandson, Tyler; her sisters Annie, Juanita, and Delores; and her brothers Manual, Ben, and Alvin.

She is survived by her children and their families: Lollie (Matthew) and their children Elena and Ben; Raymond (Kathee) and their children West, Wade, and Whitney; Pam (Robert) Brynn, Kyle, and Emily; Margie (Jeff) and their children Gage, Zach, Reese, and Grace; Teresa (Rich) and their children Abby, Cobe, and Jeffrey; granddaughter Kaeli; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings Martin, Rudy, Cora and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Marcelina will be remembered for her strength, independence, faith, and appreciation for life’s beauty. Above all, she will be remembered for the love she shared so generously with family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the example she set for those who knew and loved her.

Rosary and funeral services will be held at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, 115 E. 3rd St., Powell, Wyoming.
