Margaret Dana Richardson

Margaret Dana Richardson died suddenly in her home on Friday, March 21, 2008. She was born February 28, 1945, in Lovell, Wyoming, to Evagene Davis Richardson and Robert Clark Richardson. She shared her birthday with both her father and her paternal grandfather. She celebrated her most recent birthday in Tucson, Arizona, cheering for her beloved Colorado Rockies.

Margaret graduated from Lovell High School and the University of Wyoming. She had an extremely rewarding career as an elementary school teacher, beginning in Sheridan, Wyoming, then continuing in Powell for thirty-one years. She loved outdoor activities and was a downhill and cross-country skier, golfer, hiker, and camper. Throughout school she was an active Girl Scout and camp counselor. She was a Past honored Queen of Job's Daughters Bethel 29 in Lovell. She was also a member of the University of Wyoming Alumni association, Delta Kappa Gamma and Alpha Chi Omega.

Margaret was a Christian and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She served her Lord every day through her kind thoughts and actions. Unkind words never crossed her lips. She surrounded herself with humor and joy.

Margaret is survived by one sister, Jane Richardson; a brother-in-law, Dennis Hejduk; a nephew, Robert Martinez; and a great-niece, Cassidy Lyn Martinez. Survivors also include an uncle; numerous Richardson and Davis cousins; her three kitties; and hundreds and hundreds of former students.

There will be a celebration of Margaret's life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Powell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Margaret's favorite charities: Caring for Powell Animals; the Powell Valley Healthcare Diabetic Support Group; the Lovell Library Building Fund; the Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Center; and the Crosswalk Christian Library.
