Mary Susan Eversole, affectionately known as Suzie, was born on September 29, 1936, in Cody, Wyoming. With a spirit as vast as the open plains of her homeland, she blossomed into a dedicated educator and loving matriarch, whose life touched many with the grace and warmth she exuded. Suzie departed this world on July 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven from the threads of love, resilience, and devotion.
A proud graduate of Cody High School’s Class of 1954, Suzie pursued further education at the University of Colorado, securing a Bachelor of Science in Education. She devoted her professional life to fostering a love of language and literature in the hearts of her students as a High School English Language Arts teacher at Centaurus High School in Colorado. Her influence extended beyond the classroom; she was a mentor, a guide, and a beacon of encouragement for her students and colleagues alike.
Suzie’s commitment to her family was unwavering. She is remembered fondly by her granddaughter Alicia Fabbri, her husband Adam, and their beloved children, Gabriel and Luke, as well as by her granddaughter Bridget Yount. Her family was the center of her universe, and she derived immense joy from each familial bond she nurtured. Her down-to-earth personality was shaped by her Wyoming upbringing, where she learned to forge connections that resonated deeply within her heart.
Suzie's life was marked by profound relationships and cherished memories. She was blessed with a special bond with her own grandparents, who made it a priority to attend every significant milestone in her life, from graduations to her wedding day when her grandfather, Moose, gave her away. Despite the passing of her grandfather before her children were born, Suzie's steadfast presence remained pivotal. She was there to welcome her grandsons, Gabriel and Luke, into the world, ensuring that her legacy of love and guidance was bestowed upon the next generation. Her adventurous spirit shone brightly when, at age 86, she made a remarkable 10,000-mile journey to Sicily, Italy, a testament to her unyielding desire to be with her family wherever life took them.
Her hobbies reflected her nurturing nature: she relished reading and found solace in her garden, often sharing her bountiful harvest with loved ones. Serving her church community was a fundamental part of her life, as was baking, which filled her home with delightful aromas and brought joy to those fortunate enough to share a meal with her. She
