Sue Eversole, a cherished matriarch, slipped peacefully from this world on July 22, 2025, in Powell, Wyoming, at the age of 88. Born on September 29, 1936, in Lovell, Wyoming, Sue’s vibrant spirit was cultivated in the rich tapestry of her childhood spent in Cody, where she dedicated her early years to helping on the family farm. Among her treasured memories was her deep bond with Pesi Cola, her beloved horse, an emblem of her youthful heart and adventurous soul.
In 1956, while attending the University of Wyoming, Sue met her beloved husband, Moose, of Rock Springs. Their connection sparked at a local dance, where a playful slap—prompted by a dare—marked the beginning of their beautiful journey together. With a proposal as unique and genuine as their love, Moose simply stated, “let’s just get married,” solidifying a bond that would last a lifetime. They exchanged vows on July 31, 1958, in Cody, and deepened their commitment when they were sealed in the Billings Temple in August 2000. Together, they raised three strong sons: David, Paul, and Doug, embracing life with grace despite the heart-wrenching loss of their son, Michael, during childbirth.
A woman of immense character, Sue dedicated herself to her community and her church. Alongside Moose, she served a mission for the LDS Church in the Arkansas-Little Rock Mission in 2007, embodying their unwavering faith and commitment. Those who knew Sue will remember her for her kind heart, her vibrant smile, and her boundless love for others.
In their retirement, Sue and Moose set forth on countless adventures, relishing the freedom to explore the world together. They favored back roads and uncharted pathways, weaving through most of Europe and across the United States, all while indulging in their shared passion for history and indulging in banana splits wherever they went. A truly memorable trip for Sue was her journey to China, but her spirit soared higher yet as she ventured to Sicily at the age of 86, visiting her granddaughter, Alicia, and her family on their overseas tour.
An avid reader and passionate gardener, Sue always packed a bag filled with books for her travels, where she often found joy in collecting nativity sets and frogs, mementos of her wanderlust and love for life.
Sue is survived by her beloved granddaughter Alicia Fabbri, her husband Adam, and their two children, Gabriel and Luke; her granddaughter Bridget Yount; as well as numerous relatives and countless friends whose lives she profoundly touched.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Moose, and her sons, Dave, Paul, and Michael, along with her grandson Michael—each one holding a precious place in her heart.
As her spirit rejoices in the embrace of the Lord, reuniting with her beloved Moose and meeting her children once again, those she leaves behind will carry forward the bright legacy of love, generosity, and warmth she bestowed upon them. Sue Eversole will forever be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a shining light in the lives of so many. Her graveside service will be held on July 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Penrose, Wyoming, a final gathering to honor a life beautifully lived.
