Matthew Call

On August 27, 2017, Matthew Harrison Call passed from this life into the next.  He began this life on October 29, 1962 in Sacramento, California.  He was met by his parents, Virgil Harrison and Gloria Jean Lucy Call and an older sister, Cheryl Jean Call.  Later, his family unit was completed by the birth of a brother, Mark Daniel Call.

Matt grew up in California and eventually graduated from Vacaville High School.  He was a natural athlete and loved participating in many different sports.  He was on the swim and wrestling teams, but his favorite sport was baseball.  He played from Pee Wee league in to college.

Along with sports, he enjoyed the outdoors : fishing, hunting,water skiing, snow skiing, camping and hiking, but what he loved most was white water rafting down the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho.  He worked as a guide during the summers while attending college.

Matt attended Ricks College and graduated from BYU in Provo.  He went on to earn his Masters from the University of Idaho.  After doing various jobs such as ranch hand, college professor, and High School Science teacher, Matt was led to his career as an Environmental Supervisor at WyoBen Inc..  He worked there for 18 years and enjoyed it immensely.  It was a perfect job for him that allowed him to be outdoors as well as have time in the office.

Matt married Janalee Jones on May 11, 1991 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple.  They had six children:  Rebecca Jean, Daniel Harrison, Cory Matthew, Mellicent Grace, Caleb Isaac, and Selena Renon Call.  The family lived in Idaho and Montana, but eventually settled near Janalee’s parents in Otto, WY.

Along with working at WyoBen, Matt had milk cows that he milked faithfully night and morning.  He sold milk in the area as well as raised calves.  He also worked timber and sawed lumber.  He could do about anything that he put his mind to do.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full time mission in Halifax, Canada.  He also served in many different positions in his local wardincluding Elders Quorum President, nursery leader, and ward clerk.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jean Call.  He is survived by his father, Virgil Call, his sister Cheryl Kubant(John), his brother Mark Call, his wife and six kids who miss him greatly.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Burlington LDS church. A viewing will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery following services.
