Maxine Allen
Maxine Allen passed away peacefully at the Powell Valley Care Center on Sunday, October 4, 2015. She was 98.
She was born November 23, 1916 in Ingraham, Illinois to Ira and Maude Hagen.
On January 21, 1937 she married John H. Allen in Chicago, Illinois. To that union was born four sons; Kenneth L. Allen, John L. Allen, Dale J. Allen, and James R. Allen.
John's work, International Minerals, Inc., transferred their family to Powell in 1961. The family lived in five different states during John's oil field career.
She was a member of Christian Church in Flora, Illinois and the Methodist church in Powell. She worked at several flower shops, and also as a sales clerk Nellemay's Dress Shop. She was also a charter member of the Powell Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two sons; James Allen of Vernal, Utah, and Dale Allen of Casper, Wyoming; Sister, Marie Adams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, John Allen, in 1973; and her sons, Kenny Allen in 1972 and John Allen in 1991.
Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A brief visitation will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
