Maye J Jones of Powell died on October 6, 2019.
She was born on April 30, 1925 to Matthew McLaughlin and Mary Althoff. She graduated from Powell High School in 1943 and married Bill Jones on May 27, 1943. She lived her whole life as a faithful Catholic on the Powell flat. She was the oldest parishioner of Saint Barbara’s Catholic Church.
Bill and Maye had six children, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, two children James Jones and Judy Gardowski, and two grandchildren Kari Nevil and Lenny Gardowski. She is survived by her children, Tom (Tammy) Jones, Ted (Mary) Jones, Mark (Lynn) Jones, Mary (Mike) Fischer and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at Saint Barabara’s Catholic Church in Powell. Viewing will begin at St. Barbara’s at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, with a funeral at 10 a.m.
