Penny Castle of Powell died at home on Oct. 20, 2014. She was 79.
She was born July 2, 1935, to Clark Pierce and Winnie Dabner in Billings.
Penny married Rod Castle on Dec. 27, 1954, in Billings. Over the years, the couple lived in Billings, Oconomowoc, Wisc., Rogers, Ark., and Powell.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed arts and crafts. Penny attended the Episcopal church.
Penny was an artist and taught tole painting and decorative painting. She was a member of the Decorative Painters Society.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, sister Roxanne Strand and brother-in-law Charlie Strand.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Rod Castle of Powell; son Curtis (Carol) Castle; daughter Debbie (Tim) Gile; brother Fred (Jean) Pierce; four grandsons Matt, Greg, Steven and Kyle; and great-grandchildren Nolan, Liam, Ambrose and Adelyn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Thompson Funeral Home in Powell.
Cremation has taken place, and her ashes will be spread in Red Lodge, Mont.
Memorial donations can be sent to a charity of one’s choice in honor of Penny.
