Victoria G Hernandez

Victoria G. Hernandez passed away March 17, 2008 at her home in Powell. She was 92.

She was born December 23, 1915 in Salmanca, Mexico, to Jose and Avelina (Preito) Gutierrez. She lived much of her life in Powell where she worked for many years at the high school cafeteria. Victoria loved to do crafts, and loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Jesse Hernandez of Powell, and Victor Abarca of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughters, Maria Hernandez of Powell, Louise Gutierrez of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Connie Hernandez of Dubois, Idaho; siblings, Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Gutierrez of California, Guadalupe Gonzalez of Powell, and Ramona Montaya of Powell; 23 grandchildren, and 62 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jesus P. Hernandez; son Refugio Hernandez; and daughters, Josie Moreno, Ramona Hernandez, Christine Winters, and Mary Jesse Weatland.

A vigil will be held March 18, 2008 at 8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be held March 19, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Powell. Father Glen Szczechowski will officiate.

Erick Marquez, Juan Luis Marquez, Mr., Augustin Vasquez, George Riddle, Jr., Roy Garza, and Jaime Abarca will serve as pallbearers. David Santiago Delgado, Kristopher Lewis, Anthony Joseph Hernandez, Juan Luis Marquez, Sr., and Gilbert Garza are honorary pallbearers.
