Viola Claudette Logan

Viola Claudette Logan was born in a farmhouse in Iowa to Claude and Rena (Aden) Wilson on December 5, 1933. She joined her three older sisters Edna, Helen and Mary. Later, her little sister Shirley would join the family. Claudette grew up in Iowa on the family farm, and she attended school in the tiny town of Havelock, Iowa. Claudette met the love of her life Daniel Houston Logan while she was still attending high school. Dan gave her a promise ring when she was a junior, which caused quite a commotion with Claudette's classmates. On August 2, 1953, Claudette and Dan were married, and they moved to Missouri where Dan was serving in the US Army. While there, their eldest son, Michael was born. After Dan's service, they moved to Iowa where they were blessed with another son, Zane. In October 1963, Claudette and Dan decided to move to Powell, Wyoming where they welcomed their daughter, Danielle. Claudette often joked that if they moved to another state, they would have to have more children. Claudette was open to many adventures with her family from washing dishes in a river next to a bear to pushing through mountains of snow so they could enjoy another snowmobile trip. Claudette loved to cook and have family and friends over to enjoy simple meals to holiday feasts. Cooking was something she fondly shared with Danielle and together they baked many dozens and dozens of cookies! Claudette loved birthdays and tried hard to make them special for her children and family, always creating that special cake for each birthday. One particular birthday she taught Mike’s new bride how to make a turkey and all the fixings to make Mike’s favorite birthday meal. Claudette's family started to grow and she welcomed daughters-in-law Ramona and Debbie with son-in-law Wes. As her family grew she was thrilled to have grandchildren and their spouses: Angela (Luke), Zachary, Andrew, Jason, Brittany (Josh) and Logan (Ariel). Growing older she was overjoyed by the addition of Great Grandchildren: Caitlin, Brandon, Jacqueline, Houston, Madeleine, Lincoln, Jocelyn, Macy, Ben, Ryleigh, Marilyn and Zachary. One thing that was very important to Claudette and something she shared with her husband of 66 years was her love of antique cars. They loved traveling the United States uncovering the hidden gems, taking trips with various cars, attending swap meets, and participating in various tours, parades, events and family picnics. So today her family are taking her on her final ride in the family's beloved "1909” Model T. Rest in Peace Mom, we love you.
