William "Bill" E Fisher

William Ephraim Fisher, 80, passed away April 15th, at the Powell Valley Care Center surrounded by family after a short courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born May 16, 1928 to Frank & Lola (Skiles) Fisher in Nibbe, Montana. At the age of 5, he moved with his family north of Pompeye Pillar. Due to the drought, they moved to Worden, Montana and lived on the Smith place. He resided in Worden until he met and married the love of his life, V. Bernice Kuntz on June 29, 1947. To this union, they were blessed with three children, two sons, Richard & Perry, and one daughter, Debra. In 1952 Bill & Bernice moved to Powell, Wyoming where Bill went to work for Harold Williams along with future partner Jim Cox. In 1965 Bill & Jim Cox formed their own farming partnership. In 1974 they formed and established Cox & Fisher Farms. Bill was involved with the operation up until his retirement in 1994. At this time his sons took over his part of the business.
Bill loved to camp & fish and was always at home in the mountains with his family, his greatest love was watching his grandkids compete in different sports and was there number one fan. Bill had a heart of gold and would always go out of his way to help someone in need. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge where he devoted most of his spare time. Bill was also a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Virgina Vrana; and daughter-in-law Judy Fisher. He is survived by his wife Bernice; sons Richard (Terry), Perry (Trudy), and one daughter Debbie (Tom) Donarski, one brother John Stanley (Irene) Fisher, one sister Evelyn (Wilsey) Barett, 10 grandkids, 9 great grandkids and 1 great great grandkid. Memorial services will be Monday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Powell, Wyoming. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home.
