William Eugene Kuntz Jr.

William Eugene Kuntz Jr., known affectionately as Bill Kuntz, passed away on August 27, 2023, in Billings, Montana. He was born on November 10, 1949, in Millersburg, Ohio, to his loving parents William Kuntz Sr. and Helen Parker. Bill had a remarkable life full of accomplishments and cherished moments.

After graduating from school, Bill pursued his passion for ranching by working as a ranch hand. However, in 1969, he felt a strong call to serve his country and joined the Marine Corps. Bill served as a rifleman in the Mediterranean and was honorably discharged in 1971. His time in the Marine Corps left an indelible mark on him and defined the rest of his life.

Following his military service, Bill dedicated six and a half years of his life to serving as a Florida Highway Patrolman. During this time, he demonstrated unwavering commitment and bravery in ensuring the safety of others. After leaving law enforcement, he returned to his true passion of ranching. He worked as a ranch hand manager until his well-deserved retirement in 2012.

Bill was a man known for his ornery good-natured teasing that endeared him to all who knew him. His infectious laughter lit up any room he entered and brought joy to those around him. Fond memories abound of the times spent with Bill; it is impossible to choose just one as they were all beautiful. One particular highlight was when he took great pleasure in selling his wife Janice's delicious "Miss Janice's Cookies" at the local farmers market.

Not only was Bill humorous and jovial, but he was also a person of deep faith and integrity. He strived to express his Christian beliefs through acts of kindness towards family, church community, and even strangers. A strong family man, he always made it his priority to support and help his loved ones. Bill's unwavering dedication to his family was evident in the close bonds he shared with each of them.

Bill had a rich array of hobbies and interests that brought him immense pleasure. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it be shooting, riding horses, or simply embracing the beauty of nature. These passions brought him a sense of freedom and tranquility.

Bill will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his surviving family and friends. Janice Kuntz, his beloved wife; Sam Kuntz, his son; Gulsum Kuntz, his daughter-in-law, Cathy and Brent Bailey (sister-in-law), Ron Hart (brother-in-law), Kay and John Vandemark (sister-in-law), Kenny and Lita Hart (brother-in-law), Nancy and Kevin Hicks (sister-in-law), Jeff and Cindy Kraner (cousin), Helen Parker (mother), Debbie Witt (half-sister), Jim Witt (brother-in-law), Pat Parker (half-brother), and Tim Parker (half-brother) will forever cherish their memories with Bill.

In honoring Bill's life, let us remember his infectious laughter, his selflessness towards others, and his unwavering love for his family. Although he is no longer with us physically, Bill's spirit will continue to live on through the memories we hold dear.
